“2 years old”
A couple of days after his second birthday Behrad had high fever. Behrad himself is
not able to talk yet and while he is crying, he signals pain.
– After referring to the doctor several times:
Doctor: Please perform a sonography on the patient immediately.
“Mom and Dad worried.”
Sonographer: Unfortunately, there is a 12 cm big lump in his belly – probably from
the sarcoma family of tumors.
Mom: Sarcoma? Is it dangerous?
Dad: What should we do?
Behrad (while he is crying): Let’s go home.
Behrad’s doctor after seeing the results of the sonography: Unfortunately, it seems
as if there is a sarcoma tumor. Please get ready for hospitalization.

“Surgery – pathology- malignant cancer tumor – RMS”
– Behrad’s doctor: Start with the chemotherapy – the tumor is malignant. I hope
you will be successful.
“Chemotherapy- pain – chemotherapy”
We celebrated Behrad’s third birthday together in the hospital.
1 year of chemotherapy.
The nice era after the chemotherapy, hope, wish and again hope.
Thanks Behrad you showed us how strong one can be, independent of age and size.
“After his 4th birthday”
The tumor came back again. This time even bigger and stronger.
“Hospital – Surgery”
Again, hope and again good wishes.

“After his 5th birthday”
Dad knows that the tumor has grown again.
The doctor confirmed this after the routine sonography checks.
Mom, Behrad. What a time has started again.
“Hospitalization – Surgery”
This time we are after new ways and methods.
Behrad’s doctor: We shouldn’t do any surgery again this time – new way – new
method- new journey.

“Green path”
Mom: We are with you forever- my dear son, my dear Behrad – please stand it.
The nicest moment of our lives:
We are in this together – all together we stand next to each other – with love this
makes us even stronger being next to each other as a family.
Time passes soon.

Green days, nice times and memories which we built together, laughter from the
depth of our hearts, thank you Behrad!
We train to be next to each other as a family with love.
Dad and Mom, you could even feel their worries with their meaningful looks at each
other, but nevertheless they look content and try to make the best out of the
situation.

“The last spring”
This spring has some news with it, the tumor has come back again.
The heavy treatment starts again, several surgeries.
No, it seems that if this time the tumor has come with its full strength and power.
Doctor: The tumor can’t be removed – but there is still hope – chemotherapy – new
medicine.

“6th birthday”
Behrad’s 6th birthday- it it unbelievable that we are all together- even the 16cm big
tumor in Behrad’s body can’t hinder us.
We are at home – a hot summer – thank you Behrad that we can still be together.
I know how difficult this is for you.
Mom and Dad: Happy Birthday Behrad! We love you!
“a bitter fall and winter”
“Surgery – Chemotherapy”
Behrad’s doctor: There is no hope anymore.
Behrad’s parents: There is still hope – we still hope – Behrad hasn’t surrendered.
It is 3 months now that Behrad is in coma.
Behrad we love you.
The heart rate on the monitor shows that Behrad is still there, he is still alive.
“Hospital psychologist”
Behrad is free – have never seen before that a kid in this age can manage to stay 3
months in coma. I believe he really loves his parents. We have to wait until his heart
gives his consent.

“His last breath”
It was on 23th January 2021, a Saturday noon, mom was with Behrad and next to him
in his last moments. She was telling him stories when his heartbeat got irregular. At
1.30 pm Behrad’s heart stopped beating.
Mom’s wish: My dear son I wished to be next to you in this moment. Thank you for
choosing us as your parents. You are the best my son.
Behrad: And this was my last gift to you dear mom.
